The tribute
First we have OS X, [possibly the best OS in the world], and then we had Google X.
Google X featured an alternate way to connect to Google's various services, allowing people to click on a series of graphical icons in a method inspired by a feature in Apple's operating system.
The experimental site was pulled a day after its debut, but you can still google-x at the mirror sites here: EaglesCrag.net, thejosher.com and The Place for It All, and Evilpig, where you can choose from six language versions.

that was cool, but i want google to get with it and offer us OS Xers a gmail notifier, desktop search, etc....HAND IT OVER!!
G’s being a slow tortoise in rolling those out to us, eh.
this the best if you wanna find out how google achieved the genie effect. :)
why you want gmail notifier? just use POP la.
